In a recent TED Talk, David McCandless stated “data visualization gives us a second language - the language of the eye- for communicating information. When the language of the eye works in tandem with the language of the mind (numbers, concepts, words) we start speaking both languages simultaneously, each enhancing the other.”
Recently, Google introduced Single App Kiosk mode as a part of the Chrome Management functionality. These products have the potential to create a similar single purpose transformation that the iPad brought to computing. Using Chrome Management’s kiosk mode, the Chromebox can be set to boot right in to a specific application, making that device a single purpose application.
